It's harmful that some of us grew up thinking that our "real" culture is static, ancient, doesn't change yet at the same time is "barely alive". Speaking to my 19-yr old siblings who share my old attitudes abt it is eye-opening. I was so misled.

The culture may be old, but we have progressed and adapted through the changing times. Some aspects of the ancient culture remains in it's contemporaries but that complements the culture we know and love today.
