How often do you hear the other side of the Cannabis discussion?

In NZ I've really only heard the benefits for legalizing cannabis, yet not a lot regarding possible negative implications it may have. Interested to hear both arguements

Ahh see that's not the answer I expected lol. Would be interested to hear too! That's definitely a big future topic we hope to do justice to as well in our own way.
The Northern Mariana Islands and Guam have both legalized it recreationally. Hawaii has too, but medicinally.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Yeah, just keen to see both sides to make an informed decision. Interested to know how things are there?

Tbh Guam & the NMI are still working out the kinks in their laws but in the meantime have allowed people to grow their own at home. Some dispensaries look to be nearly ready in Guam, but then COVID hit. The least I can say is now there are fewer people being criminalized for it.

When I lived in Las Vegas last year where it was legal for recreational use the dispensaries were making a killing off of it. The culture was so interesting, very similar to coffee shops with how unique each place branded themselves. It was a billion dollar industry and growing.

my biggest concern about legalization in Hawai’i is the amount of gentrification it’ll lead to. more haole will come from the continent and buy up land to produce their product further disenfranchising native hawaiians

Yes exactly, that was a problem I saw in Vegas too, it definitely was gentrified at many places. There was one place that had a Colonel Sanders-looking dude in a top hat as a greeter at the door
