For so long, my perception of success was clouded by colonization & capitalism. Now that I'm decolonizing, I'm seeing success differently. It's not the Louis handbags or McMansions for me. It's not a Tesla, six-figure salary, displacing indigenous people in HI, or frequent trips.

Success is all of this and more to me. It's being content with island life, yet searching for improvement when I see it's needed. Its being happy with where I am at & what I'm doing, looking back on what I have done, & ancestors before me. It's reconnecting & forging connections.
