I bet you're the bobboy to the taotaomo'nas lmao
I was told by my suruhånu teacher that they often favor men/boys, but idk if that is true. I wonder if men are more "clairvoyant" to the spirits? Colonization has clouded the knowledge and made me doubt so much.2 replies 1 retweet 6 likes -

They're not more clairvoyant or special than women. Ask yourself if that information feels right to you. There's layers of stories from our precolonial culture and our post colonial conditioning that created all kinds of gender divides that are no longer relevant in the present

I found out through my own experiences that female makåna siha were so powerful in the past that men were threatened, so they were forced into hiding. Now those barriers are erased. Famalao'an rising is part of the shift all of humanity is going through rn to reclaim that power.

I love that. Suruhånus in the CNMI are a very secretive group, they cannot advertise themselves, so I only knew two of them. My teacher, a man, and another woman, who was practicing. It's so interesting now, with what I know, to revisit what I observed back then.

That's very interesting. Avtually you shouldnt go and "advertise" and be super public about it, it could have a negative effect on the potency of your åmot

I have heard that too! I agree with you that perhaps if I allowed myself to connect, I would feel them more. I am open to trying that one day, though I don't feel open to it just yet. Kind of like meditation. I'm starting to get in touch with feelings & not just logic, its scary.

Yes!!!! What you think you know and what you know you feel aren't always the same. Everything in it's own time :)

Saina ma'åse na dos, para este. It's always a great conversation to have, to revisit and be helped in your knowledge by others. When I get to the point where I feel ready, I will let you two know how it goes
for now, I feel unprepared. But I know it's inevitable.
