You know what's crazy to me?? Settlers ACTUALLY having the audacity. To have the privilege of living on someone else's land and abusing it.

Indigenous people should be able to kick people out tbh

but I see how that can be abused. Perhaps other solutions are needed. The bar should be set by them in a council. Idk. Yes? No? Musing out loud at this point..1 reply 0 retweets 10 likesShow this thread -

I think part of the problem is there are so many locals with brainwashed colonized mentalities. It's sad how much they argue against self determination and defend the military or federal government. I see it daily on FB. Some days I have to close and avoid FB out of frustration.

Colonizers/settlers love to use those kind of people as justification/validation. It's like how Trumpers love sharing stuff from Candace Owens or Milo Yiannopolous to argue that racial or LGBTQ discrimination isn't really a problem.

I appreciate your examples & agree (and I have such disdain for both those names). I think, as the older generation phases out and the younger ones come in, this problem will inevitably get better as people now can be more easily educated (or that could just be me being naive).

I do see an increase in the number of younger minds being passionate about decolonization, and I'm on the outside looking in since I'm not indigenous. Still, the military recruitment machine here is a powerful brainwashing tool for the US.

I mean tbh, outside looking in or no, this movement will only gain steam with the help & support of settlers here too. I say it all the time on my pod, but due to politics, I consider myself a settler here. Yet I go to the protests & hearings bc I support Guam Chamoru's struggles
