Update: I was informed that Ryan Calvo has psychological issues. I disagree with his opinions, but I would like to apologize for the personal attacks. I should be more civil regardless of how passionately I feel. Sorry.https://twitter.com/dillp671/status/1279617922395107328 …

Are you saying that people can run for elected office on Guahan with psychological issues? There's no law against that??

I'm not sure. On one hand, someone with mental illness should have the right to run and their medical history should be private. On the other hand, voters have the right to know who they are voting for. It's complex :/

I always believed once you seek election or are elected into public office, your finances, medical history, and other information then should become public information also

Yeah as hard as this is, running for office means transparency is necessary. Hiding any of this speaks volumes. There is a stigma associated and that is unfortunate, but if someone wants to work for the people & represent them, the people have a right to know who that person is.

If someone does work that speaks on its own, I would vote for them even knowing they are diagnosed with PTSD. Even knowing they've been bankrupted before. People are complex, and I think being transparent is a necessity. We also need to work on how we stigmatize mental health.
