I'm not sure. On one hand, someone with mental illness should have the right to run and their medical history should be private. On the other hand, voters have the right to know who they are voting for. It's complex :/

I always believed once you seek election or are elected into public office, your finances, medical history, and other information then should become public information also

Yes. As they should be. Mental illness covers a wide spectrum but also carries a lot of stigma. Having a mental illness does not disqualify someone from running or mean they're unable to perform the job well.

Sorry I should clarify that I had not thought "psychological issues" and "mentally unwell" were one and the same. I agree to some extent as this is not a black and white issue, the stigma these labels carry does not help either.
