It's a nice feeling to have the roads & beaches almost all to ourselves again tbh. Tourism degrades experience so quickly. I miss the tourists, but it feels good that we are giving places time with just the locals. Businesses are appreciating the business of locals more.

I felt a type of way seeing GVBs video to get tourism going again. I think our islands are more than just our hospitality and a tourist spot.

I feel that. And this is coming from someone whose jobs are both literally dependant upon tourism. Tourism will always come at an environmental sacrifice but in addition, businesses have come to see locals as "unwanted/other" bc we aren't as regular or big spenders as tourists.

Yeah. That’s also why I’m concerned about the surplus of stateside franchises coming to Guam. Money spent there by locals and tourists doesn’t always circulate back to the people

Yup. Or when I do eat out I tip what I can cuz that’s what our people get to see.

Oh yes I've always tried to tip even when I was in high school and I would eat out. It never sat right with me when I didn't after eating out..but now I try to tip even when ordering to-go.
