My fiance went to supposedly the "best schools" on Guam & they didn't teach him jackshit about anything Chamoru-related, didn't teach him jack about culture, didn't prep him on politics, and reinforced colonizer western education while requiring so little of his mental capacity.

This annoying part of Guam needs to change because it produces these cushy privileged idiots who be the MOST VOCAL colonizer types. People who know politics, who know decolonization, who know the struggle do it bc they MUST. They are the most likely to be affected.

When we first got together it was difficult bc his view on indigenous activism was prejudiced bc of his private school upbringing. I had to engage in LONG discussions on logic (bc OBVS that wasn't taught to him), politics, government, culture, poverty, then FINALLY decolonization
