Thinking about how slow seed distribution is in the forests with our low bird pop. on Guåhan. Can we have holidays where we go boonie stomping and distribute ourselves? Let's make a cute date of it? Plant medicine for the land, not just ourselves.

I know some seeds need to be processed. And saplings would be at risk from boar/deer. But something is better than nothing, right?

I think also another reason why the chain-of-love plants are EVERYWHERE on Saipan but in more concentrated areas of Guam is bc fewer birds to help disperse the seeds. Happened to have done a small research project on a similar topic of insect abundance between Saipan & Guam.

NEVER AGAIN WORKING WITH INSECTS. It's just not my style, give me reefs instead
It was for an Island Ecology field course I took before though. At least now I know.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

This is what I call chain-of-love. Also, I think bugs on Guam get HELLA BIG bc fewer birds. Imo
I had to collect them. Never again.pic.twitter.com/aa6oyJRHuN

Also invasive species like the Philippine deer and the wild boar are called ungulates, & they FUCK the environment up. They mess with the levels of certain nutrients in the soil and the diversity of plants in an area where they are abundant.

Anyway thank you for coming to my mini info sesh
I studied all these things in research classes, so not SUPER in-depth, but we did do cool things like test soil levels and measure abundances

Ooo. Thank you for sharing! It's so important to know these kinds of thing bc I know a lot of people want to help, but dont know where to begin or what to look out for.

Ah, well I love talking about our islands.
But I also have much to learn. It's exciting to learn about it.
