PSA: please DO NOT pay to give your DNA to for-profit companies like 23andMe. They can replicate it and do whatever tests they want with it once you give it over. The time of genetic engineering is coming upon us fast & they do NOT have your interests in mind. Keep it to urself.

I’ve never thought of it this way and now it scares the hell out of me. I was going to get a lot from 23andMe.

Ooh girl, I hope you consider the future risks associated. It is pretty scary to think about tbh. There are great ways our DNA can help humanity, but I wouldn't give it these for-profit DNA companies who don't do a good job & who will sell it to the highest bidder when they can.

Definitely not buying a kit. Like I said, I didn’t think anything of it? Thanks for this eye opening info.

Of course! Many people don't read the disclosure agreements or whatever documents that they sign for getting their history, but if you look into these companies agreements, you actually release your DNA to them completely. I wouldn't release anything that precious to just anyone!
