After the hurricanes that killed 1,000-3,000 people and wiped out the electric grid for months, Puerto Rico got exempted from the Jones Act... for 10 days.

So stupid. My home islands of the CNMI were devastated by Typhoon Soudelor (lost power, lost internet access and telecommunications for months) and Typhoon Yutu both in the last few years and the Jones Act hindered them economically in many ways. It is a burden upon us all.
