Thank you for the comment! I agree, PR has bulala problems. With regards to the Hurricane Relief, I think it's apples to oranges. Both are Commonwealths, but speed of relief could be based on so many other factors too.

Besides that, another thing is we're a relatively unknown entity to average Americans. If we need relief, there won't be people screaming "they're in debt and corrupt so why give them more" like PR's case. PR on the other hand, literally had POTUS screaming that into the news.

Replying to @Lani4Pasifika
I think we can agree to disagree here. I felt like offering people here a story of hope & a possible avenue to a speedier solution. You may sympathize with the military, but I also saw firsthand on Tinian in 2015 the limestone forest which was earmarked for artillery training.

When you say our "viability is hinged on our relationship with the military"....what do you mean there?

"Before a disease can be treated, it must be diagnosed. And you do not need to know the prescription before you diagnose a disease." What you're asking for is a concrete plan, as if this has been done before under the same circumstances. It hasn't. This is a process in the works

This conversation has started in Hawaii, and especially recently on Guam. Decolonization becoming a big topic also goes hand in hand with demilitarization. Join the conversation here when you can. I'm listening to the pod you recommended now.
