I worked at two coffee drive thrus and PEOPLE ACTUALLY DID THIS. Some parents start their kids diabetic diets as young as 3,4 yrs old, and as early as 6 am.https://twitter.com/trashb0i/status/1179817278675701760 …

The sad thing is that some of those parents think its cute or funny to give their kid their own drink but all that sugar & caffeine is not good for a developing body & brain. They get so accustomed to it that that's all they'll want now.

Exactly. I as the barista knows how much sugar goes into those drinks! But customers almost never know or care to know, many would rather not know how bad they are. Occasionally they're fine I guess, but regularly?? Horrible for you. Worse for kids. And I love seeing these kids!

Damn... that’s sad. Growing up we think our parents are strict, but they did what was best. I wasn’t allowed to have coffee growing up. Even in high school I couldn’t drink any in front of them. Lol

Yeah and I think that's the thing. Our parents put themselves above us. We were not equals. These days, younger parents are like equals with their kids, so if they get a treat, then the kid obvs "deserves it" too. Among lots of other reasons they use to justify poor choices.
