Oh no girl your eyes aren't THAT bad, it's just that the Mariana Kingfisher is a rarer species lol. The one you see often back home is the collared kingfisher. Blue and white coloration.

Yeah idk how old those recordings are honestly. And I'm sure I've heard that mentioned before but that may have not been well-known by the people who took those recordings. I know a native bird died in captivity recently besides the Mariana mallard, but I wasn't sure this was it
