Okay. So it’s a Marianas kingfisher. There was no explanation so I had to guess nai! hahah. I think it’s a badass costume!
Also, my eyes are really bad. Maybe that’s why I’ve never seen the orange part whenever I see kingfishers

Yeah idk how old those recordings are honestly. And I'm sure I've heard that mentioned before but that may have not been well-known by the people who took those recordings. I know a native bird died in captivity recently besides the Mariana mallard, but I wasn't sure this was it

Omg! I always hear that pattern! Especially that second type of chirp. I know it sounds crazy, but do all kingfisher sound like that? Cuz I know I’ve heard that exact type of call

Idk! I listened to the collared kingfisher's call in the P.I. and Thailand, and the Mariana crow recording sounds a bit like a faster call maybe? The song is haunting too. You can listen and compare yourself I may be crazy.
