Also, just from my observations going to public schools and churches, there aren't many Chuukese on Saipan. Probably why you didn't hear about Chuukese so often. Relatively, there are more of our other Micronesian brothers and sisters there than Chuukese. Much much more on Guam.

Yes! This is it. So in a way, to use Carolinian as a catch-all term brushes aside the Carolinians of CNMI. Because they are a unique culture that are different from Chuuk. I'm not Carolinian, but I have close island sisters and friends who have explained these differences to me.
