I was at my gym doing circuits and then I rounded the corner of my gym and saw a goose standing under a leaky faucet. How funny! I was wondering who brought a pet goose.

After my fifth lap it had barely moved from under the faucet. Upon closer inspection I saw it/they/she/he was limping BAD. Oh no no no. Poor thing...pic.twitter.com/deH32GPLXZ

My trainer and my fellow gym family got on our phones and called all sorts of animal rescues and rehab centers. Many are closed. It's the day before July 4th. Fuuuu. Poor thing needs medical attention asap.pic.twitter.com/GfvfpCvGpb

So there I was, bringing the goose home. We have a pool. My sister took ornithology last semester and went to the preserves, loves birds galore, I told you all how many damn bird feeders we have right?? She's already rescued two birds. This was her moment to shine!

Our conversation (she pointed out to me it is in fact a Canada Goose, not a duck)

She got in the pool. We set her up with food. As good as it gets at this point.pic.twitter.com/TUpSsWzvn9

We have to pay an $85 fee for them to even look at her/him. But they won't look at her until Friday morning. Smh. If we don't pay the fee we can donate any amount to them and release her to their care. But they won't tell us if they decide to euthanize her.

Will see if we can bandage the wing ourselves tomorrow after she's had some sleep. Poor thing is exhausted. She keeps sleeping in short bursts. She definitely woke up and honked in alarm when we brought the dogs outside to pee. I feel it's most likely a coyote/dog that bit her.
