Well....that only (usually) applies to private residences. Not public places, or places of work. Shiet, now THAT would be crazy. Imagine stand your ground laws in public places!

Castle doctrine is for private residences. Stand your ground has actually been passed bit they wabt to add to it to allow a person to defend themselves wherever they are.

Tbh I don't like the sound of that. Unless the vetting of people allowed to have guns is extremely thorough, I won't feel more secure if I know others can just whip out their damn glock to be a vigilante whenever they feel "threatened".

Do studies on different countries & cultures w/ different gun laws. Switzerland has almost no restriction on gun use but I felt it was one of the safest & friendliest places to visit but it does have a lot to do w/ the locals & their way of life.

You make a good point with Switzerland! Never knew that. But also look at the flip side with places like Australia and Japan with super tight restrictions and very low deaths via firearm. Can also be attributed to cultural differences though.

I get ya. But like, I feel that guns aren't an "equalizer". If anything, they will always allow for an uneven ground because it'll be the person with the biggest gun, most expensive gun, most rounds, etc who will "win" by KILLING! As if it's a video game!

You could look at it like that but it could also become that people know that others could be armed & will think to not just whip out a gun. The whole video game concept could also be applied to any type of weapon. Knives, bats, anything really.

I hear ya on that front. Just gonna respond to the part about the video game: I'm making a reference to ppl being flippant about murdering who probably have some deep-seated issues, but I also know that video games have not been shown to desensitize people to killing.
