    The real problem is that students are “using the power of the government to shut down other people because they don’t like their viewpoints,” and the school is going along with it. - ADF's

    . temporarily banned a student from “any contact” with three peers because her ideas were “unwelcome” Fun fact, these are third-year master’s students… so, 23-year-olds asking the school to tell a peer they don’t want to talk to a peer.

    College students are not fragile by nature. It's that the universities have created sprawling bureaucracies that incentivize and reward identity-based psychodrama. The fault lies squarely with the adults who exploit young people to perpetuate their own bureaucratic empires.

    The University "investigation" when there is nothing to investigate - like Georgetown's "investigation" of Ilya's tweets - is itself the violation of free speech & academic freedom. Intended to soft punish and chill speech even when cleared. It's also administrative cowardice.

    Whether one agrees with Ilya on this or any other issue, the authoritarians shouldn’t get to decide who speaks and what is said. I am glad Ilya is refusing to give Georgetown an easy way out. He’s a good man and doesn’t deserve this.
