“The administrator downplayed the report from the teacher and the possibility of a gun, saying — and I quote — ‘Well, he has little pockets,’ ” Toscano said.

Shortly after 1 p.m., another teacher told an administrator that a different student who was “crying and fearful” said the boy showed him the gun during recess and threatened to shoot him if he told anyone. Again, no action was taken, she said.

Oh, just a @calstate faculty member here at @CSUMB teaching in these conditions. We were promised our classroom air was turned over enough to be safe for our students, faculty, and staff. I'm having my doubts. Four hours yesterday in a room with 30 students at these levels.

Maddening. They Do Not Care About Students & Teachers/Staff. “They”= those in power at school sites & district offices. This is an extreme case, but day to day TEACHERS ARE NOT TRUSTED. This is why it will continue to be Teachers vs. Admin. Change that & everything gets better.

Emails I got today (a thread) 1. Third one in a week begging for volunteers to chaperone a dance for free from 6-11 on Saturday and threatening that if teachers don’t care, then there will be no dance. 2. Directed at all staff asking us to sub during our preps today.
