Correction: Video WAS taken in Starkville on 11/03, which is what I had initially reported. There was some confusion, because apparently, Sen. Hyde-Smith has a talent for saying things like this often. @GanucheauAdam

I just received the full-length video. It is 14 minutes and 26 seconds long. Hyde-Smith's statements about voter suppression were, in fact, the 18 seconds posted above. There was nothing taken out of context. Nothing cut or manipulated. Nothing edited.

It's almost entirely comprised of photos the Senator takes w/ college kids & minor children. Given the amount of attention & the volume of vitriol the video has generated, it would be irresponsible & reckless to post w/out editing out faces of minors. That's NOT a joke.

Hhhmm, wonder if she meant any of THESE (HBCU) schools: Alcorn State University Coahoma Community College Jackson State University Mississippi Valley State University Rust College and Tougaloo College (UNCF members)
-
How can we make sure students at "those other schools" see this and vote?
-
1/1 Excellent question. There is HBCU connect (
@hbcu), NCHE (Nat'l Council for Higher Ed), (@NEAHigherEd), the Black Greek org (http://nphchq.org/info@nphchq.org ) and the White House has a network of HBCU's (@WHI_HBCUs). -
These orgs don't specifically target these schools, but they will be covered. Also, the schools mentioned Twtr accts are below. I so hope they vote! This is historical and long overdue.

You just did a beautiful thing by sharing that info.

Thx, sis. I so hope @espyforsenate wins. She knows EXACTLY what she's doing w/these cmmts. It would make my heart soar if these students turn it out at the polls!
-
I agree! Keep it up.

"Senator, do you know we can actually hear what you're saying?"

And sadly, that's par for the course in Miss. isn't it?
-
Everywhere. The Reps seem to consider this a viable tactic. They've openly admitted that everyone voting is bad for them.
-
Then the answer is to stop spending so much money on media consultants and start spending most of it on voter registration and turnout operations. There are more of us (sane people) than there are of them.
-
This is exactly what Kemp said in Georgia too - that if Democrats voted, it would be a problem. And then he did all kinds of stunts to make sure it was as hard as possible—took away polling places in minority -heavy areas, voting machines that had no plugs and ran out of battery
-
What will Republicans do when white people turn against them? Think about it! First they came for....
-
Judging by the actual 2016 vote, they already have. Trump lost the popular vote. Only slavery era tactics have saved the Reps. (Electoral college, voter suppression, etc.)
