. new campaign commercial includes very young girls in . Young girls in hijab is not something that should be normalized or celebrated. Least of all a selling point for a campaign.

That means 66% of Jordanians believe if a woman committed an offense an honor killing could be justifiable. 19% of Jordanians believe if a man committed an offense, then an HK would justifiable. 2/2 Clear yet, or do you need me to walk u through it again?

. & , have a hard time reading Pew stats despiste how clear it is. So, if someone commits an offense, is an honor killing never justified as a punishment for that offense. 34% say if a woman committed the offense a HK is never justifiable. For men, 81%. 1/2

Says the Non-Muslim man who wants to redefine the meaning of female empowerment and engages in bigotry of low expectations and especially for women. Islam is not a race, ISLAM IS AN IDEOLOGY. Criticizing, mocking or otherwise disagreeing with Islam or Muslims, is not racist.

I’m from Jordan. I would say at least half the Jordanian society (men and women) do think that way!

Cortez’s reply is ironically very sexist against women.

People should be able to make stupid decisions like wearing symbols of oppression. But if those decisions puts others at risk, then it's completely fine to put restrictions on them. If we agree that wearing face masks is unacceptable in public, burka shouldn't be an exception.

Imagine if the west stood up to & demanded basic human rights and stop spreading extremism, or they’ll recall their ambassadors & cut off economic relations. Instead Saudi uses this tactic against us. It can be done. All we need is the will.

Third, comparing Islamic veiling with other religious veiling doesn’t make it right. Practically every religion, especially when practiced conservatively, requires women to cover. Often their hair, arms, legs, etc. In all cases, this is meant to repress and control women. 3/

Second, the hijab, niqab or burka aren’t comparable to the habit concerning how they’re used. Catholic nuns aren’t forced to wear habits from a young age by their parents simply for being Catholic. Nor do Catholics shame Catholic women who don’t wear one or consider it a sin. 2/

One of the most absurd arguments in defense of is the comparison to the Catholic nun’s habit. First, the Catholic Church has always been, and continues to be, anti-women’s rights. So comparing Catholicism to Islam only proves how repressive against women Islam is. 1/

Muslim women don't wear the veil or headscarf because they like it, they wear it because they have been forced, guilted, shamed, coerced, brainwashed to think that Allah commanded it, so like it or not, they have to cover themselves up to protect their modesty and please Allah.

As an ex-niqabi and headscarf wearer, I don't support women wearing trash bags over themselves and never will. If you have never worn one, keep your god damn mouth shut and stop supporting a culturally misogynistic tool of oppression. You don't have room to talk. Just shut up.

Apologists are pushing as something that opposes “whiteness.” So are the millions of Muslim women who are against hijab, “Pro-Whiteness”? By confusing westerners that Muslims are a race they can push Islamic fundamentalism forward, pressuring on white guilt.
