I was glad to meet Prime Minister Khan of Pakistan today in Beijing. We discussed prospects for a comprehensive policy package and international financial support to help stabilize the economy of Pakistan, and also the need to strengthen governance and protect the poor.

I was recently asked by about the first thing I’ll do after lockdown. I did not know that I would not see my family for 10 weeks, other than on a screen. When I saw my 14-month-old grandson kiss the phone to wish me goodbye, I knew what I missed most.
I had a very good meeting with President Macri. We are close to the finish line in terms of reaching a revised staff-level agreement between Argentina and the IMF, which will be subject to approval of our Executive Board.
Kofi Annan was a beacon of light to the international community, a consummate humanitarian, and a friend to all those who strive to make the world a better place. All of us at the IMF mourn his passing, but continue to be inspired by his legacy.
