Doesn’t make liberating the country from the nazis any less important. Maybe the allies never got rid of enough of the oversight in the country and the trickle down effect of leaving closest nazis in power, but that’s a whole other story.

My father was Dr. Alfred Louis Mathieu.
After the war, he studied and then worked with the Food and Agriculture Org/U.N. for most of his life, trying to help poorer countries.
He taught his 4 daughters to CARE.
