On 9 April 1917, more than 10,000 Canadians were killed or wounded. Remember them.

Having been to the Vimy Ridge Memorial, felt the pain of that place, and the grief of the mothers, sisters, brothers, fathers and friends of the fallen, I think every Canadian should come to this place, feel and remember.

I'd love to do that. But now I doubt I will. Time grows short as do funds for travel. It's an inspiring Canadian story, part of a proud history. Fingers crossed this dark place we find ourselves in will also go down in history as a time when Canadians distinguished themselves.

I am a child of the Canadian Armed Forces & lived in Europe. We went to the Vimy memorial on a school trip when I was 12. I can still feel it. Never forgotten it, especially when I found the name of a relative of my dad's there. It is a sad & beautiful place.
