    Mainstream UK politics is trying to return to the world before 2015 without actually addressing any of the real world issues which led to the events of 2015 onwards. My prediction is that far from things returning to "normal" this just means they're going to get even more weird.

    Israel just destroyed the Al-Jazeera and Associated Press offices in Gaza. In case it wasn't already clear, the IDF behaves this way because they know they can get away with it. To be effective, the international response must go far beyond the usual hand-wringing

    David Evans and the other Labour party staff with the power to suspend are tacitly endorsing Akehurst's racism and war crimes apologism. Silence from LOTO is complicity. Where are all the people who endorsed and voted for him to sit on the NEC? Shame on them.

    Landlord threatening to evict the two migrants defended by their Glasgow neighbours on Thursday. This is the Hostile Environment. Landlords turned into border enforcement agents & migrants with only slumlords to turn to in the end. This is how they try to break our communities.

    Pretty awful new development concerning the two guys (& family) detained in Kenmure Street the other day.

    most of the British political class and media have worked relentlessly in recent years to turn Palestinians into unpeople - whose stories can't be told and whose claims to justice are illegitimate. But they've failed in that aim, and will continue to fail

    This is happening with the support of the United States. I don’t care how any spokesperson tries to spin this. The US vetoed the UN call for ceasefire. If the Biden admin can’t stand up to an ally, who can it stand up to? How can they credibly claim to stand for human rights?

    Oh my god. The building where al Jazeera’s office is housed has just been taken down by Israeli airstrikes. There was a warning and evacuated. It houses offices and private homes. I can’t believe it.

    I don't usually put out anecdotal data- because ultimately events are down to statistical probability, but please stop minimising. I've had two family friends pass away now, both of whom had received two doses of vaccine. They were both real people, loved & lost. So please stop.

    The Indian variant differs by ONE amino acid out of 10,000 from variants already in circulation in the UK. Immunologically, there is zero chance someone who’s been vaccinated or infected naturally with Covid won’t cope well with that variant.
