    Excellent perspectives. We really need a response that recognises the distinction between severity at an individual and community level. The evidence is gathering that Omicron is more severity at the population level in Australia

    A reminder that the average length of stay in immigration detention in Australia is currently 689 days. In the US, it’s about 55 days. In Canada it’s 14 days. Australia is a complete outlier & all the experts agree: mandatory detention is arbitrary & causes extreme harm

    or push through? Necessary deaths & hospitalisations, or not? I support idea when this all over there is an independent investigation into handling of by federal/state politicians, health and others. Because lessons learned mustn’t be forgotten.

    Let’s see ....

    Mr Djokovic’s visa has been cancelled. Rules are rules, especially when it comes to our borders. No one is above these rules. Our strong border policies have been critical to Australia having one of the lowest death rates in the world from COVID, we are continuing to be vigilant.
