something i think about a lot is an interview i read in kerrang! from around 2002 (?) with the corby-based metal band, "raging speedhorn"

"so you're from corby" he says. "isn't there a man in corby who eats christmas dinner ever day of the year?" it is a mystery where the kerrang! interviewer has picked up this information from

the band shake their heads. "he's from kettering" they reply in unison (kettering is ten miles away down the A43). the second vocalist meets the interviewer's eyes for the first time in the interview. "if he was from corby he'd be f*cking dead" he says

& that was where the interview ended: the presumed takeaway was that here was a band who were so hard they'd literally kill you for eating too many christmas dinners (if you lived in corby). anyway that's my raging speedhorn memory. good luck to them, & to the gent in kettering
