    Baroness asks how the Govt will build a coalition with countries imposing embargoes & sanctions on and protect who is in more danger now than ever Minister responds they are working with international partners & directly with the Myanmar Government

    More defeats for Govt on the as the Lords votes heavily to ensure that it is harder to do trade deals with countries that are suspected of committing crimes against humanity or genocide. Many Tory peers also supported the amendments. Issue will return to the Commons.

    Our strength in biosciences, plus comprehensive NHS coverage, has contributed to our strong position. Post it is essential that we maintain these - which means much international engagement will be required for staff, expertise and ideas.

    A highly effective vaccine to add to the medical countermeasures against COVID-19 trialed in the UK. If it gets MHRA approval this increases our future resilience, including against the B.1.1.7 variant. Many thanks to all trial volunteers and those who conducted the research.
