Rural, and lower middle class. Berlin was called "Red" Berlin and had the lowest support for the NSDAP.

You had Ivy League credentialed lawyers busted for firebombing police vehicles over the summer. When the mob mentality takes over the impressive resume doesn’t make a person immune.

Yeah, those people were also poisoned by the supposed radicalism of the moment. I still can't get over the lawyer who drove 135 miles from Upstate NY to Brooklyn just to throw a molotov cocktail at a cop. Lasch nailed them in the 1970s.
