*Plenty* of other religious groups have dress requirements for children. But the “I Want To Speak To Your Manager” Brigade are only up in arms about Muslims? I’m shocked.https://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/1050442624010768390 …

I’m not right wing. Don’t label those of us who object to children being made to wear “modesty clothing” as right wing in order to avoid the debate. Disagreeing with you does not make that person right wing or Islamaphobic.

frankly its not any of your business what other peoples children wear.

You are wrong. Do you believe that people should not hold opinions? I do not have the right to tell people how to dress their children and now would I want to, but I do have the right to hold opinions about it. Unless you are the self-appointed thought police?

I honestly don’t care what people or their kids wear so if we go down a road where we do care, then we do the whole lot. Stop sexualising girls clothes. I find it irritating that people focus on Muslim dress when there are loads of other religious outfits that kids wear

There are all sorts of rules of dress in all religions that require modesty but it’s irritating that there ways seems to be a focus on Muslims. Meanwhile in Primark you can by sexualised girls clothes but that doesn’t seem to be demonised as much.

JHB is being actively provocative and she clearly demonises Muslims and to me that’s way more offensive. I know a lot of women who wear hijab, happily so, as kids too. It’s a culture I am not part of so got no opinion on it. As a white agnositc woman I’ll keep my nose out.

Do you feel that way about FGM?

How can you compare actual cutting a woman’s body to some modesty clothing? What about circumcision and Jewish modesty dressing? Never seems to be criticisesd. The point is I can think things are horrific but I am an outsider and it’s up to the culture itself to change it

Circumcision is criticised a lot - and I think it’s horrific. But there is no comparisonhttps://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/theobserver/2012/jul/29/the-big-issue-male-circumcision …
