I allow them that their “concerns are religious” since in America you’re not allowed to foist your religious concerns on anyone else. But of course your point is well taken, since no one can recognize the “religion” they claim to associate with.

This is exactly it. It’s like they are caught in a loop of both trying to force people to be born (and stay alive against their will) while simultaneously going out of their way to make life as miserable and dangerous as possible. It’s truly confounding to me.

You’re a fool. Absolutely NO ONE has said women dragging their kids 2000 miles aren’t people. They’re stupid for endangering their kids’ lives, but they’re people.

On the contrary, only religion could be used to justify a position that absurd. Religion enables people to say with a straight face that a 600 year old man built a boat and put 2 of every animal on it, then it rained for such a long time that all the land on Earth was underwater.

Yeah, some people base their ideas on careful measurement and rigorous experimental testing of theories, others think that the best explanation can be found in a series of bronze-age myths about a magical invisible sky-daddy. I mean, who's to judge which approach is better?

At the end of the day we don't know which of us is right. We're both choosing to believe in something that we have limited evidence to support. (also, I realize a came off as super condescending, not gonna say that wasn't my intent, but forgive me)

Because religious people are generally taught abstinence and nothing else, and anyone with half a brain cell knows abstinence only doesn't actually work! A good chunk of the girls I knew who got pregnant in hs were the same girls whose parents wouldn't allow them to take sex ed.

Any sex ed actually happening isn’t getting through to young males re condom use. If males used condoms and properly, number of pregnancies/abortions and STI’s would markedly decrease.
