Circumcision is worse than rape but not as bad as murder. The forced amputation and genital mutilation aspect are the main factors. Parents also commission medical female circumcisions in southeast Asia.pic.twitter.com/U9qH0K5nRb

why are you like this

He also RTs Harlan Hill, supporting building the wall so his judgement is pretty shit all around.

is that an anti circumcision furry
-
u know it
-
maybe this is unprincipled of me but like, I support anti circumcision stuff, but whenever I meet one of the activists they’re so offputting it makes me not give a shit at all
-
like how are you gonna talk about circumcision but not talk about fgm, intersex surgeries, trans issues, or reproductive rights? also they’re weirdly anti semitic in this one specific way
-
Okay so that's a stereotype but if you were to talk to me you'd find that I'm quite vocally against intersex surgeries and FGM, that I support trans rights, reproductive rights, and have nothing against jewish people? "My body my choice", what's so complicated about that?
-
i’m not really talking about you, i’m talking about the vast majority of people i’ve met in that. I dont really have an interest in talking to you anyways.
-
Sounds to me like you construct your own narrative of who anti-circumcision activists are and then refuse to meet anyone who might change your impression of them. But hey you do you
-
the people i’m referring to are the ones i’ve seen either doing their own protest on a corner, wearing white with a blood stain on the crotch, or they come to a protest of a different topic with their own signs. you know. activists. you’re just posting on twitter. relax.

What are the differences between circumcision and rape? Both are performed on the genitals. Both require penetration. Both can leave mental scars (implicit memory). Both can leave physical scars. Both are done without consent. So tell me, what are the differences?
-
Circumcision always leaves permanent physical scars and damage, rape often doesn't.

have you listened to the Dollop episode the cereal men? I had no idea circumcision in the US was so heavily linked to the anti-onanist policies of the 7th day adventist movement. sorry to reference a comedy podcast but that's the only way I can learn about history
-
Historical reasons for circumcision are dumb but that doesn’t mean the procedure is comparable to being raped
-
It's at the very least sexual violence. Isn't that what rape is, too?
-
this argument is destined for a big brawl in the ugly pit of semantics. talk to individuals who were circumcised as infants about their experience, and then talk to rape survivors about theirs. the world is not built on dictionary definitions.
-
Talk to individuals who were raped as infants about their experience, and then talk to forced circumcision survivors about theirs. False equivalence. And before you say it, yes, there are men being forcefully circumcised against their will.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2715741/A-dozen-men-ambushed-stripped-naked-forced-undergo-circumcisions-Kenya-wives-complained-not-good-bed-circumcised-men.html …
-
dudes, I've already stated that I disagree with circumcision practices. I am well aware about the violent horrors perpetrated around the world. I am not defending genital mutilation. the concept of young bodies being altered without consent makes me queasy. like, totally with you
-
but you must understand that there is a very common practise of male circumcision for infants of millions of families that clearly has not had the same psychological effect that being raped might have had on a child, adolescent, adult, whatever.
