My family & friends set our plan in motion with a mobile blood drive & a day of activities to give back to those who gave to me: & LLS. Close to 75 pints of blood were donated & over $9,000 to LLS. I was healthy enough to be able to attend . (5/7)

This new journey in my life was really tough! During treatment, complications developed which resulted in hospitalization, a stop in treatment, antibiotics, and numerous blood transfusions. (3/7)

Cancer was not new to me. I am a retired radiation therapist who has worked in oncology for over 45 years. It was my job to help and care for others. I treated both adults and pediatrics, and I am very familiar with LLS. (2/7)

Also, I received a caregiver support call from someone the LLS connected me with whose journey was similar to what my husband and I went through. It helped to speak with others who understood what we were going through. (5/8)

When Miguel was diagnosed, I began Googling, trying to collect all the information I could. I was worried about so many things besides the obvious outcome of it all - I was worried if our health insurance could cover the cost of care. (3/8)
