I'm serious. The only reply you've given me was about your strict deadlines yesterday. I really don't see why you would say you and I have debated intensely.

I went back to look at the history of our tweets and you're right -- we were in a larger debate with others about "forced representation" and the insinuation of leftist ideals into the show, but you didn't specifically come after me. You have always been deferential and polite --

-- and I appreciate that. I read the argument between you and another user, whose points I agreed with but whose methods I did not. I don't like name-calling, of me or others. That said, my point is the same: you and I don't agree on everything. But I still respect your opinions.

Coming back to this thread. My questions haven't been answered so my point also stays the same: what have I said to offend you? Also, I did come specifically to you in the past with the question whether you would deviate from the cultures in the books to include and represent --

I had to check, it’s been almost three months since our last interaction. My memory is good, but not so good to remember the exact thing you asked me that you say I’m avoiding. So ask again, please.

IDK if you read everything, cuz my thread was 3 tweets long (sorry, not used to Twitter 😄), be sure to read it please, cuz I find the final message to be the most important. Question is whether you would deviate from the books' races and cultures to include minorities? Thanks.

The answer is: I will not deviate from the books’ races and cultures, which means I WILL include minorities. The trap people fall into is equating “ minority” with skin color. (Note: people saw the writers’ room picture I tweeted and railed “Why so diverse?! Why no Europeans?!”

The answer is: the staff includes someone who was born in Europe, someone else who’s spent half her life in Central Europe, and someone whose family is Polish. But no one actually asked that — they simply took note of skin color and assumed I was filling quotas.)

Will I move through the book and start changing people’s cultural heritage or ethnic makeup or gender because I’m feeling really “liberal” that day? No. That’s ridiculous and contrary to what ANY writer would do, because we are storytellers. Story comes first.

But will there be minorities? Yes. A man would be a minority in Brokilon Forest. A person of color would be a minority in a small village. An islander would be an minority in Cintra. Mr. Sapkowski has said — publicly, and to me — that the Continent is big and diverse —

      — in its population, in every way (race, culture, gender, and yes, occasionally skin color, which he said he did not always specify). I’m not sure how people insinuate I’m destroying the books by recognizing that. I’m honoring the author’s own intentions. He told me so himself.

Those are the tweets of all tweets. Whenever someone whines about political correctness, changing the source material out of SJW reasons, these are the tweets to read. You're doing what the author intends. All of this isn't only in the books, its an important aspect of the books.

There will be always assholes in any fandom(and these people didn't read the books or didn't pay attention to what was written). Anyways, I wouldn't swap the race, gender or sexuality of any character that is defined in the books as a certain race, gender or his/her sexuality.
