If say 1,000 more people give wildflowers a chance by leaving areas of their gardens uncut this year, it'd really help struggling pollinators like bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies and bats! RT if you're on board for saving time, effort and wildlife by mowing less in 2020 🐝

Dear councils, This year please reduce needless over-mowing of our public spaces, green corners & roadverges, and avoid weedkillers & pesticides! Less work, fossil fuel use, cost. More wildlife, wildflowers, insects 🐝

A terrible photo but a first for the garden, a Long-tailed Tit? Hoping it will visit again so I can get a better photo to confirm. We have daily visits from Blue Tits and Great Tits. Last week we had another first, a Dunnock 😊

Flourish have been working hard this winter preparing the ground for growing. These long beds have been thoroughly weeded and a layer of manure put on top to help improve soil fertility.

It is obvious the people of Liverpool care deeply about their green spaces, they've fought so hard to save so many of them. Our plan is to use that love to restore beauty to smaller, residential areas 🌲🌳💐

Saw our first bumblebee of the year yesterday! The carpets of crocuses and snowdrops – and other nectar-rich, winter-flowering plants – at Kew are a lifeline for struggling pollinators emerging early from hibernation.

A single tree can absorb 10 pounds of air pollutants a year. So every native tree we plant - and each established tree we protect and allow to grow - is good for our own health, as well as for wildlife, biodiversity, and tackling 🌳🌳🌳

We cannot hide from the fact that we're in a crisis. We have to act now. All of us. We have to change our minds and change our ways. And if we do... the planet will continue to be the most beautiful place in our universe. 💚

Even a small reduction in mowing lawns - including public spaces like parks, road islands and roadverges - can boost wildlife, increase pollinators and save money, a study finds. Let's give nature a chance 🐝

You may think these are in a woodland glade. They are however underneath a native hedgerow that we planted many years ago, at the side of a road in an urban street in the middle of town. We need to recognise and maximise our front as habitats for .

Today is also ! Hedgehogs are nocturnal, but often found in gardens & parks where there are plenty of bushes for cover. The hedgehog is one of our most recognisable creatures - round, brown & covered in spines. On average, they each have 7000 spines!

A bumblebee can only fly for about 40 minutes between feeding. But we've lost 97% of our wiłdflower meadows. So please plant at least one nectar-rich flower in your garden or community this year. Your one flower could be the pit stop that saves a bee.
