  2. I have met Roz, Charlotte’s mum & know what this family have suffered. Jack Shepherd had his right to a fair trial upheld but he absconded & is a fugitive. If that’s not bad enough, he’s just won the right to appeal his conviction & will receive legal aid.

  5. It seems British nationals who become victims abroad struggle to access compensation & are forced to pay for protection or repatriation costs. This will get worse post I will be pushing strongly for scheme to consider including those ‘abandoned’ victims

Do you know a young person who lives in Islington and deserves recognition for the great work they are doing for their community? Then nominate them for the Ben Kinsella Award, entries close on the 18th January 2019, so hurry

  8. Pleased to see appalling policy on FM victims getting coverage as been an issue for several years & still no resolution. British families bereaved by homicide abroad also left to fund & arrange repatriation. These gaps in provision need urgently addressing

  9. This was highlighted in 2016 & still no change! don’t have funds to pay for repatriation but they should help victims access compensation schemes in other countries as someone needs to foot the bill & it should not be vulnerable victims.

  18. During mandatory GDPR training, I realised we had legal issues with the way victims’ personal data was being requested, shared & used & prompted me to write to ICO w/ partners. Thanks to ICO for listening & making this a top priority investigation.
