WEDNESDAY... I get to reveal the cover and prologue of NINTH HOUSE, my story of power, privilege, and dark magic at Yale. Just to be clear, it's fiction. Mostly.
I feel like there should be a word for "afraid to feel hopeful." Many syllables, probably German.
I'm currently working on the sequel to King of Scars and a small, weird Grishaverse side project (code name Blood and Miracles?). Next up is the sequel to Ninth House. (and thank you!)

All of these supposed story purists screaming that HCA was Danish and so Ariel must be white. The mermaid DIES in the original story, never gets her voice back. The prince marries someone else. The Disney retelling has almost nothing to do with the original, but now you're mad.

We are kicking off with an international search for ALINA before we start on other roles.
For the series, Alina is half Shu (Asian). It is a decision Leigh and I made together after a lengthy discussion of the character.
Speaking of ghosts, I've gotten a few messages lately along the lines of "I hope X character dies so that she can be with Y character again." I get the poetic angst of it all, but it really disturbs me, especially because X isn't even 20 years old. Let a girl live.
