I'm fairly new to LA and haven't spent much time in Griffith Park, but it's hard to beat a stroll in Central Park. I wouldn't use the term "hiking" there though.
100% agree. More just a fun way to compare the most popular parks in each of the two cities.

I mean NY is always sending some NYTimes reporter over here to “discover” tacos, so we can have some fun generalizing them sometimes too ;)

I've had love/hate relationships with both cities and am always on board for good natured ribbing/comparing the two. LA has NYC beat for natural beauty and outdoor activities by far, but I did much more walking on a daily basis in NYC.
