Ya know, my last life was games and I was surprised at how much revenue was generated from things that provided no in game benefit but made you look cooler or provided unique expression. Twitter should try some non-feature, expression/aesthetic micro pay stuff imo.

Twitter could benefit from an antagonistic billing model. I'm glad they don't.

Where you pay in inverse proportion to the value you provide?

I’d pay too if they built features for saving tweets as I use twitter as a learning tool. I want to file several tweets under differ tags, but bookmarks just doesn’t allow it. And then I want ability to search those tweets (google search is better than twitter search for that)

I would never pay for twitter. While I do enjoy the exchange of thought I would never pay a dime to receive random thoughts from random internet celebrities. apart from those trying to build up a follow / a brand I’ve never heard anyone remotely interested about that idea

I bet you that those who are not able today to monetize their “thoughts” via a newsletter or self help website wouldn’t be able either on twitter. Thinking about the interactions between big accounts, if such paid model was in place, has me laughing a good bit.

The world of "monetization" looks different when you start with "what would customers love to pay for" not "how can we make money" it's amazing how many companies don't seem to do that. Not picking on twitter, I think they're great, but they don't offer me cool shit and I have $.

Honestly they could borrow mailchimp’s business model and charge for the number of followers you have past a certain number.
