I used to think the same thing. In the 90s, many of my co-workers in SF lived in a communal arrangement in Berkeley. They talked me out of it. Turns out it’s just like a regular family in the manner that one person can ruin everything. Except your n is much higher.

Small communities are interesting for sure. Everyone knows everyone's 'buisness' and it can lead to drama. But it can also be super rewarding. Depends on the people. That's why the community needs a solid set of rules and standards, and someone appointed to enforce those lol
