maybe i’m misunderstanding the threshold for “very few”, but every time i try to think of something for myself, i can pretty much name who it came from. Venkat’s writing, for instance, is def a big influence on me

the closest i can get is that, within my own echo chamber, i believe some controversial things about gender, and I think psychoanalysis is good and correct- but the fact that it’s an entire field of study disqualifies it from the “very few” criteria...

i genuinely don’t know what i believe that isn’t A) part of at least one institutional set of beliefs/assumptions or B) a contrarian reaction against the aforementioned institutional ideology
