Pilled myself into terms like 'appropriation' being temperature-measuring terms. You hurl the word at someone and see whether or not it catches on. Allows creating common knowledge of how much desire of an attack there is whilst maintaining plausible deniability. Utter brilliance

I don’t think I understand what this means. Can you ELI5?

Sure. So basically imagine that you have an enemy. And you want to coordinate an attack on them. You need to know whether you'd win, or why attack? A way of measuring that is knowing whether you have more firepower than them. But how can you know what?

You can go around and ask but that makes it so that people now know you're coordinating an attack and you're not yet sure who's on your side. So you need a way to tell who's on your side whilst keeping plausible deniability about an attack happening. Hence, magic terms.

Think of it like a joke. 'Hey guys wouldn't it be fun if we all beat Joe? Right, right?' but it's a schrodinger joke. People either are like yea that would be great and you're like LET'S GO or they're like uhm- what? And you're like ah ah just a joke you guyssss
