JIT is fine. Lack of household, local, state, & federal strategic reserves is not. Perhaps, so is importing critical necessities.

Kinda dig that thought. Globalization has kinda been exposed in some ways... not having critical products manufactured here seems like a national security risk?

Market capitalism has been pushing efficiency for years, opposite of resilience. Probably need a better balance - if we don’t have domestic suppliers then create reserves. We'll probably have a pandemic reserve for med supplies going forward.

Need health system not built to optimize roe. I’m hopeful adults, not ideologues, can get in the room after this and make structural improvements. We have to do better. This isn’t done, obviously, but it’s likely to happen again
