If you don’t have roomates, will be a pain. However, plan on getting a super cheap month to month in bushwick or Washington heights, and then (assuming you’re budget is 1.5-2.5k for a room in Manhattan), you will be able to find during the last two weeks of every month.
-
Yeah I was looking at Bushwick. A friend lives there and I will be staying there for a few days... it seems like there are quite a few rooms.

B/w 1st-60th street in Manhattan is much louder + more crowded, but near everything. UWS is more families. UES is quieter but only 30 mins from downtown. Brooklyn is more hipsters and less congested. Midtown is mainly for working and happy hours. Keep commute to <45 mins.
-
Good advice all around here, especially on the commute. I will do my best!
