    When dry fuels are receptive, embers carried by wind can ignite spot fires ahead of the main fire. Helicopters will work to slow the spread of these new fires while ground firefighters find safe access.

    A large search tonight for a missing swimming last seen clinging to a pillar under the Pier. The search began around 9 pm with lifeguards on paddleboards, divers in the water and in the air. A Coast Guard helicopter is now on scene.
