EMERGENCY LANDING | 13900 Lang Station Rd #CanyonCountry | While returning from it’s forward deployed location to base for crew swap, Firehawk helicopter experienced #2 engine failure. Pilot made emergency landing. All four personnel onboard safely on the ground.
Helicopter will undergo rigorous testing by our experienced team of flight mechanics prior to flying again. We have a fleet of airships from which to draw and crews working today will continue the mission flying in another helicopter. We fly Bell 412’s and the Sikorsky Firehawk
***UPDATE*** Further clarifying information is rolling in from this morning’s incident. This was a precautionary landing and NOT an emergency landing. All personnel are safe. Our maintenance crew is enroute to further assess aircraft.
We have 3 airships manned 24/7 strategically spread throughout LA County to handle multi-mission responses. Each morning these aircraft return to our heli-pad in Pacoima for crew swap, before returning to forward deployed sites.
