…and which betrays their actual goal, which is to carve out a narrow exception around their little island of left-of-center “classical liberalism,” but is incapable of doing anything beyond that, and whose naive commitment to “neutrality” guarantees nothing changes

Rufo being explicit about all of this strikes directly at their fake and completely useless efforts to do anything about campus excesses themselves, projects like Heterodox Academy which has done exactly nothing to reverse any of these trends…

They find it especially bad and yucky that Rufo, gasp, is a “Republican,” and even worse “right wing,” and even worse than that acknowledges that the ideological campus battles that have created this mess are, shockingly, “political” in nature

All the whinging about Rufo from people like Pinker and Young and Haidt et al, amount to professional jealousy over an outsider stepping onto their turf and refusing to obey their smug, provincial sensibilities about manners and decorum

The only way to counter this is to simply say “No.” Litigating the degree or likelihood of the situation becoming “unsafe” is a dead end. I don’t know how this situation resolved, but the turning in the conversation was Rufo simply asserting his right and intention to speak

This interview, even more explicitly than the "Twitter Files" (bc Roth lacks the discreet rhetorical style of Twitter's lawyers to maintain plausible deniability), perfectly showcases the gynocratic safetyism that provides the moral and legal cover that undergirds Woke World twitter.com/mtracey/status…

This is another perfect example of the gynocratic safetyism that rules elite public space. Two women (3 if you count the lady on the phone) using the cudgel of “safety” to (try to) browbeat Rufo and the other guy into shutting up

Behind-the-scenes: the provost and president of New College attempted to shut down our conversation with faculty and students, citing a threat against Trustee Eddie Speir. But Speir and I insisted that we continue with the program—and establish a new standard for open discourse.

I've seen it, anon. I've been blessed with a vision of Based World. It is real. It exists just beyond the veil. We must only will into being.

My favourite example of this is when I alluded to the fate of a (specific, individual) airship in a discussion (not one about airships, let alone an individual airship). Only to be contradicted by the curator of the museum dedicated to that airship (who knew that existed?)

And yet every day you see people do this who are so far in over their heads and once they’re under attack they don’t know how to extricate themselves without losing face and end up imploding. So sad. You hate to see it happen. But there’s only one way to learn, I guess.

The thought of getting into an argument over Latin root words or philosophical genealogy based on Wikipedia tier knowledge about a topic is just so alien and so obviously suicidal to anyone who’s been part of this world

Except for rabid narcissists (many such cases), the experience just completely murders your intellectual pretensions and any Dunning-Krueger type of impulse toward an inflated sense of expertise.

Being too online and posting on forums from an early age fucks you up in innumerable ways but it’s also incredibly humbling since there’s always a sperg from every possible niche domain of knowledge to call you a pseud 🚬 the instant you take a single step beyond what you know

Weird how every Project Veritas video features a gay men bragging about his involvement in covert, immoral activity. No other implications there. Just a really strange coincidence!

We can learn a lot from the left. Desecrate, mock, and topple your enemy’s idols. Fund the creation of your own. Unapologetically display power at every chance you get. Instead conservatives will look at this, moan about how precious beauty is and start a podcast.

Hot take: You should not in fact enjoy the little things. As a man you should only enjoy the giant epochal win that took 3 years. You shouldn't enjoy everyday life, food, good weather. Only The Edge Is Fun. If prosaic life satisfies you it's over. you're NGMI

The analysis presented in UR remains the most persuasive case for the "illiberal" right. That inkling of how broken the prevailing "order" seems, finds its most thorough articulation in these pages. Read the blog, but, really, even better, buy the book
