I have a genuine question for my twitter friends. how many of you were exposed to racism young? How did it affect you? This could be someone encouraging you to be racist or you experiencing racism yourself.

I was raised in a racist, conservative household where bigotry was rampant and encouraged and even still is. I always knew that behavior was wrong even when I was so young. My parents discouraged me having POC friends and even told me if I dated a black man that I’d be disowned.
My heart goes out to all of the youth who are unknowingly bigoted and racist without knowing any better. Its so painful to see little children who know no better speak and behave like their parents because they were raised to think that was acceptable.
